Kindle Book Review Awards!

I am so happy to announce The Bone Road has been named a Semi-Finalist in the Kindle Book Review Awards for 2013, in the SF/Fantasy category.

There are 50 semi-finalists in the category, all of whom received 2 out of 3 “Yes” votes from the 3 screeners. All submissions were judged on the first several pages of the book. The most important elements at this stage were: Did the book grab their attention right away,  quality of writing, and formatting.

The five finalists will be announced Sept. 1. The winner will announced Oct. 1.  The judges will rate the semifinalists in 10 categories: Formatting, Sample, Plot, Style, Editing, Character development, Themes, Story, Ending, and in the case of a tie, they will judge the books by their cover.

Frankly, I expect the competition to be extremely serious, and I’m simply happy to have gotten this far.

I submitted The Bone Road for this contest on the advice of my Secret Marketing Guru, who has decided to come out of the shadows and offer her services to the world: Ripley Patton! I highly recommend her if you have an ebook that needs readers.

Ripley is also the author of the YA Paranormal, Ghost Hand, which is another semi-finalist in the Kindle Book Review Awards, in the YA category. And if you are in doubt about her marketing skills, take a look at the reviews for that book.
